The Corporate Source

Synopsis
What started as a single contract for The Corporate Source has grown into operations across more than 70 locations in New York, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The Corporate Source's 20-year contract with U.S. Customs and Border Protection began with basic maintenance and has expanded to include managing everything from correspondence to K-9 facilities and complex warehousing operations. The custodial team at a high-security government facility in San Juan, which employs a number of individuals with disabilities, continues to earn recognition from federal inspectors as a model for facility maintenance.
The Full Story
The Corporate Source's custodial work goes beyond cleanliness because the work they do is vital for ensuring personnel safety at a San Juan high-security government facility and meeting strict Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and security compliance requirements.
Joe Garcia, senior vice president with The Corporate Source, said they started with one contract in 1996. Today, The Corporate Source has more than 150 employees in the Caribbean and Virgin Islands and provides services to 70 facilities including 13 to 15 federal agencies.
The mission of The Corporate Source is to create employment opportunities for people with disabilities. Through that mission, their employees now provide high quality services to their federal customers.
"Sometimes, one of the biggest challenges for us and what we do is people believing that people with disabilities can do the job, and we show them that, not only can they do the job, but they can do it better than people without disabilities," Garcia said.
Federal inspectors across multiple agencies including the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and OSHA inspectors noticed the hard work of TCS' custodial team. They have both noted the remarkable cleanliness of the facility, with an OSHA inspector calling it the "by far the best" he's inspected during his 2024 visit to the Caribbean Islands.
"That quality has created more opportunities throughout all these years because we've built credibility in the federal government," Garcia said. "They can trust us. They can trust our work and the quality, which is, you know, important."
In 2025, The Corporate Source received the Quality Excellence Award for leveraging their Quality Management System to demonstrate performance excellence, continuous improvement, and high customer satisfaction. As a result, this agency has successfully expanded existing or secured new AbilityOne® contracts for their products or services.
