Grassroots Advocacy Conference Training
Self-advocates should connect with their nonprofit agency to sign up for the trainings. Participating nonprofits will be notified when additional information regarding training is available.
Training Schedule
- Session 1: Introduction - 7/22, 3-5 p.m. ET
- Session 2: I am Somebody, I Make an Impact, and My Voice Matters - 7/29, 3-5 p.m. ET
- Session 3: Introduction to Advocacy - 8/12, 3-5 p.m. ET
- Session 4: The importance of Being Employed, and Creating and Telling My Story - 8/26, 3-5 p.m. ET
- Session 5: Speaking to Legislators, Making My Ask, and Preparing for the Grassroots Advocacy Conference - 9/2, 3-5 p.m. ET
All recordings of these live trainings will be available on the Academy soon after the training.
Technology Requirements
Google Chrome is the recommended internet platform to access the trainings. Download Google Chrome if you do not currently have it set up on your computer. Mozilla Firefox or Safari will also work with the platform. Internet Explorer and Edge are not compatible with our systems.
Make sure that your systems meet our minimum requirements by running a system check of your internet speed, firewall, operating system, web browser, microphone, and webcams. You will need to use these during the training.
