Special Note for Federal Government Attendees

Federal government employees may register to attend XForce, a SourceAmerica-sponsored event, at no charge because it meets the criteria for gifts of free attendance under the Widely Attended Gathering Rule (5 C.F.R. § 2635.204(g)). A gathering is widely attended if a large number of people with mutual but diverse interests are expected to attend, such as members from throughout a given industry or profession, and opportunities exist to exchange ideas and views among invited persons. Government employees should consult with their designated agency ethics official regarding written authorization to accept free attendance to this conference. "Free attendance includes waiver of all or part of the fee for an event or the provision of food, refreshments, entertainment, instruction or materials furnished to all attendees as an integral part of the event. It does not include travel expenses, lodgings, or entertainment collateral to the event." (5 CFR § 2635.203).

Federal government employee attendees must use a .gov or .mil email address when registering to receive free attendance. Please remember, all federal government employees should consult with their agency ethics official to ensure compliance with all policies and regulations relating to free attendance, awards, conferences, meals, and fees.
