SourceAmerica Design Challenge – High School Registration Extended until November 21, 2018
The SourceAmerica® Design Challenge is a national engineering competition in which students on the high school and college levels create innovative workplace technologies for people with disabilities. As part of the Design Challenge, teams collaborate with a nonprofit agency that employs people with disabilities and/or work directly with an individual who is experiencing difficulties in the workplace. The goal of this partnership is to invent a process, device, system or software that enhances productivity or helps an individual with disabilities overcome workplace obstacles.
The Design Challenge competition is a win-win for all who participate. There are two competitions; one for high school students - April 8-10, 2019, and one for college students - June 24-26, 2019. To learn more about it and the benefits and requirements of participation, visit the Design Challenge webpage. If your nonprofit agency is ready to register today, follow the steps below to get started!
- Complete this form to notify SourceAmerica of your interest.
- Try to form a team on your own by contacting local high school principals, engineering and science teachers, and college deans of engineering. Tell them about the program, share the Design Challenge website and offer to partner with them for the competition.
- Contact Charissa Garcia for assistance matching your nonprofit agency to a student team.
Best of luck to this year's Design Challenge teams – we can't wait to see the innovative and life-changing workplace solutions you create!
